The Counterminers

The Counterminers are an Edinburgh-based theatre collective founded in 2019 by Lewis Forman.

The creative directors are Lewis Forman and Hollie Avery. As a collective, all of our members are treated equally. Our inaugural piece was “Mother and the Monster” at the 2019 Edinburgh Fringe. After this production, the company was largely reformed for 2020. 2020 saw the debut of “The Closing of a Small and Insignificant Bowling Alley,” which previewed at Bedfest 2020, in advance of its cancelled Fringe run. In 2021, we created "Radio 69" which played to sold out audiences and brought in rave reviews from critics at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2021. It was the culmination of hundreds of hours of hard work both online and in person.

As of 2022, we are working on a brand new play for the Fringe Festival this year, called "Cheeky Girls".
